What is the Internet Rehearsal Service?
Our Rehearsal Studio is a place where choir members can practice
for your upcoming performance. It allows each choir member to rehearse
at his or her own pace. Those who may take a little longer getting
their parts down can do so at home, saving time (and maybe frustration)
at group rehearsals. Those who pick up their parts more quickly
can use the site to enhance their performance.
How does it work?
To
rehearse online, you'll first need to download a plug-in called
"Scorch 2." Scorch lets you view and listen to our music
on your Web browser anytime, anywhere. Downloading it takes
only a few minutes and Scorch is provided for your use FREE! It
works on Windows or Macintosh in both Internet Explorer and Netscape.
Here's how to download Scorch:
- Click
here or on the Scorch2 logo on this page.
- Click the "Download Scorch 2 now" link.
- Follow the prompts and continue by following the directions
provided.
What parts are available to rehearse?
Most of the songs in the Rehearsal Studio are presented in three
different ways. The first version is the soprano and alto parts
combined. The second is the tenor and bass parts minus the soprano
and alto parts. These first two versions allow choir members to
hear their part more distinctly while rehearsing. The third way
is a combined version with all the parts as you find them on the
Worship Today Accompaniment CD.
More to Come!
We're excited to bring you Worship Today's latest issue in this
cutting-dge format. We plan to eventually have the entire library
of Worship Today music as well as all issues yet to come available
in this format. Please give us feedback
about your experience with the Rehearsal Studio.
Bear in mind that with new technology there are quirks. An example,
though you may know what a coda does, the Scorch plug-in doesn't.
That is an inconvenience, and we will make the necessary changes
as Scorch updates its software. For now, revel in the fact that
you are cleverer than a computer!
